Migrationsstudier - vart är forskningen på väg?

Föreläsning

Bridget Anderson talar om: Migration Studies, where next? Föreläsningen hålls på engelska.

Prof Anderson's talk considers how scholars should respond to the growing hostility towards migrants. It argues that we need to consider the basic category of the 'migrant'. 'Migration' signifies problematic mobility and in public discourse, and in scholarship, is often raced and classed. Concern about migration has become a placeholder for concerns about the erosion of the privilege of the Global North, and democratic accountability. A new politics of migration must make connections between migrants and citizens, but also between migration and other global processes, particularly outsourcing and the exploitation of labour and resources in the global south.
